Hike
Intermediate hike at Larch Mountain Crater, OR
This is a moderate hike of 6.4 miles and and 1300 feet elevation gain. We will start at a “secret” trailhead near the crater’s base. Then we'll climb along the western edge of the crater to Sherrard Point, with views of five peaks on a sunny day. Then we’ll descend into the crater, passing through an old growth forest and marshy meadow, a remnant of an ancient lake. You will enjoy the sights and sounds of this primeval forest as you travel along this loop.
