Snow sessions in February

Two free on-the-snow sessions will be scheduled in February, either Saturdays or Sundays; see the ski clinic application form for the dates. We will teach the diagonal stride, turning, speed control and stopping. Our experienced volunteer instructors will give helpful tips. We usually meet for breakfast and will be gliding on the snow by 9:00AM, finishing by 3:00PM. The club encourages carpooling to reach the mountain.

ONC skiers with leader at Mazama Lodge

January 23rd, 6:30–8:45PM in Portland

Sign-up deadline: January 17th, 2008

Come and join us for this Ski Clinic! We will teach you what you need to know to enjoy gliding on the snow— clothing, equipment, the “Ten Essentials", where to ski, safety, and so on.

This clinic is for beginning skiers who have seldom or never been on skis, and is required for those who wish to participate in the free on-the-snow sessions. The clinic ($15 fee) is for members members of the Portland Chapter only—join the club!

Overnight Novice Trip

An ONC overnight trip for graduates of the ski clinic and other novice skiers may be scheduled, if there is enough interest. This trip would be at the Mazama Lodge in Government Camp with day ski tours (dates to be determined). Two of the benefits of being a member of the Oregon Nordic Club are the use of this lodge and free day tours.

The clinic and the free on-the-snow sessions are only for members of the Portland Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club. Join the club and learn to ski!
