Ratings:
A; Gentle terrain that is suitable for beginning skiers and less than 5 miles.
B; Moderate terrain and length (5 to 10 miles) where skiers need basic skills of gliding turning and stopping.
C; Terrain that may include steep hills, icy slopes, often unmarked trails and distances over 10 miles.
Tours are usually out-and-back, where the first part is easy so skiers can go as far as they are comfortable and then turn around and return, preferably in groups.

Tour leaders try to consider the abilities of the group and plan safe trips but ultimately we are each responsible for our own safety.
