Roland Emetaz has offered to give our club a free two-hour presentation on Avalanche Awareness and Safety. He has offered to do all of this for us for free.

Mr. Emetaz is information officer for Central Washington Area Incident Management Team and a lecturer for Northwest Avalanche Center. He does a great program complete with pictures, avalanche gear and handouts you can take home. His program is based around quick and easy snow pack checks, route management and what to do if someone is caught in a slide. Em, as he like to be called, has spent a lifetime out there and he has great stories that will leave you having learned a lot.

This presentation is important to anyone playing in the backcountry in the winter. For this reason everyone is invited to attend this program. You do not need to be a member of Oregon Nordic Club.
